Suspended Eco Boost

This project focuses on not only bridging the east and west sides of the river, but also ecologically boosting this soft bottom section. Being part of the pacific flyway zone, L.A. has the second most diverse bird population next to San Diego. This is where the inspiration for this project came from and where it is mostly geared towards.

Located on either sides of the bridge are planters that extend out from either side. Like the pedestrian bridge, these planters undulate to maximize space for the California natives. These natives are intended to offer either fruits, berries, or flowers in order to bring and hold various species in the space. The hope is that this design will promote bird activity in the area and thus offer educational opportunities along these pedestrian bridges.
