LAKE BALBOA AVIAN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER
Mile 7 of the Los Angeles river contains the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. The riverbed is rich of flora and fauna; also home to different migratory birds across the continent. The kit of parts presented serve as the basis for the design process conveying porosity and pooling. The goal is to create an open-air environmental educational center themed on avian species. To enhance the natural beauty around the area, lookout points should be implemented leading down into the river as well as bioswales. The end result is promoting wildlife education while being ecologically responsive.
