GREEN-SCAPING NETWORK ADDITION TO LOS ANGELES
PROPOSITION: To re-establish the wildlife corridor of Sennett Creek to the Los Angeles River, and to construct habitat, public space, and green space through a wetland centered for research, environmental education, and recreational sightseeing. This hub also serves as a phytoremediation project to cleanse 25% of the river water from Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and other nutrient pollutants caused by urban runoff. Through excavation, a river diversion, and a series of wetland islands, a new space will be established closing off the surrounding urban context in a secluded, intimate place, to unify nature, wildlife, and humanity.
Visitors will be invited from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday to walk along the boardwalk in this friendly environment surrounded by a lush green-scape.
