LOS ANGELES RIVERWALK
Mile 10 of the Los Angeles River has potential to be further developed as a recreational site for local residents to enjoy. A segment of this mile has been exquisitely transformed by a local resident, Ernie La Mere. He built this beauty for the community to use and enjoy. When he passed away, they dedicated this segment to him as a memorial parklet. Ernie’s Walk is a good example on how the small scaled open spaces can be modified and be utilized to its extent. The channel has a natural asset of being a river, but not fully developed for people to appreciate. Evolving this site into more of a natural setting will enhance the channel into being a river than having it simply as a flood channel.
